Staff Training

Implementing Statutory Relationships (and Sex) and Health Education

This one-hour staff meeting will ensure your staff fully understand the statutory requirements for September 2020. We will consider key themes including an overview of the topics to be taught, working with parents and carers, delivering an inclusive curriculum and dealing with sensitive and controversial issues.

This session includes an online survey to assess staff confidence.


Bespoke Staff Training

Tailored twilight, half day or full day training sessions are available on specific aspects of Personal Development e.g. dealing with sensitive and controversial issues, outstanding teaching and learning in PSHE education and a whole school approach to the Equality Act.


Training for children taking on roles in school

Peer Mentors

Children and young people can experience a range of problems in school, in many cases their peers will be
able to help them. This full day (or two half day) training session enables a group of children to
confidently take on this role.

During the session we will consider:-

● the types of issues which might come up
● listening skills
● problem solving
● confidentiality
● when to refer to an adult


School Council

This half day session will look at the skills required to be an effective School Council representative. With effective training the School Council are more likely to have an impact on school improvement and to be able to work independently.

The session will include:-

● Effective listening
● Running meetings
● Topics the School Council can be involved in
● Spreading the message


Health Ambassadors

This programme enables children to take on the role of promoting health messages in school. A group of children will undertake an initial half day training session which will consider the role of an ambassador and some key health messages. Initial resources will be provided for the ambassadors to share in school.

Five packs of further resources will be sent to enable the ambassadors to continue their role and share new health messages with their peers. Example topics include, food, drinks, sleep and mental health.


Whole Class Sessions

Whole Class Sessions

Some topics can be tricky for class teachers to address or you may want children to hear important messages from a visiting speaker. All the sessions are carefully planned to be age appropriate and include a range of learning activities. The content and length of sessions can be negotiated for your school.

● Healthy eating
● Body image


Training Events

PSHE networks

Leading any subject area can be daunting but the changes in this area make it even more so. These termly sessions will keep PSHE leaders up to date with the latest developments including resources to use. There will also be the opportunity to share ideas with like minded professionals. Those attending the meetings will be given the opportunity to shape future agendas.

£60 per session or 3 for £150*


These sessions will be tailored to meet your needs, options include an audit of provision, support with strategic planning and curriculum development.



Health Ambassadors

This resource enables you to run the Health Ambassador programme in your school without the face to face input. Included is the plan and resources for the initial Health Ambassador training session in your school as well as the 5 follow up packs.
